Edward “Sonny” Masso

(RADM, USN, Ret.) Sonny retired from the U.S. Navy as a Rear Admiral after 32 years of service. His service spanned both the active and reserve components of the Navy. He was a Surface Warfare Officer with eight commands in ranks from Lieutenant Commander to Captain. Flag assignments included Deputy Commander, Naval Surface Force US Atlantic Fleet, Vice Commander Naval Surface Forces Command; Assistant Deputy Chief of Naval Operations (Manpower, Personnel, Training and Education) (OPNAV N1B); Commander Navy Personnel Command/Deputy Chief of Naval Personnel. As DCNP he led Navy’s Task Force Individual Augmentation (TFIA) effort to source manpower requirements in support of operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom and JTF Horn of Africa and was the Manpower, Personnel, Training and Education domain liaison to the Warfighting Enterprises. Additionally he led the Navy's Human Resources Community for three years. Sonny is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and it's NROTC program.
